TOTAL ENVIRONMENTAL ALPHA
The environmental movement has taken Goodhart's law - where a metric blindly pursued drives a massive wave of unintended (and largely negative) consequences - to a maxx level. Carbon Maxxing has been a disaster for the US.
We see this in our reliance on adversarial countries for key materials. We don't see it in the particulate pollution that we breathe from tire wearing of heavy electric-SUV. We hear it in the noise pollution that goes unresolved and could have been improved with higher ROI with a better investment strategy. It is inherent in our exhausted farmland that is so dependent on fossil-fuel fertilizers and should instead become Carbon land banks. It is in our bodies with micro plastics and PFAS.
We need to fundamentally rethink environmentalism. Total Environmental Alpha is a new approach. It is massive in scope. It is holistic. But it is delivered at the level of the Neighborhood, and thus can be managed locally and for the needs of locals. This is also a new investment category with high ROI for insurance, infrastructure, tech, industrial players. Cut the green wash and the carbon maxxing and go for Total Environmental Alpha
